I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack! And I have even MORE pictures to share with you (like 72 of them). :"} I played for about 5 hours today and into the afternoon (of course, I woke up late as well). I still resized the pictures to 640 x 400 ... but I did do some cropping on some so hopefully you'll be even more entertained. So without further ado, let us begin!
Death. It happens to the best of us. To me, it happened a lot today ... until I realized it was high time I purchased more training manuals. :O))
This is known as "The Forgotten Place of Exile".
Damn, but does she have some bony-ass shoulders!
The landscapes really are quite lovely ... and varied.
All aboard The Love Boat! Heh. Her quest was to fight her way onto the ship to retrieve the treasure map. As it turns out, others had arrived before me and had already cleared the way. Easiest quest ever!
A better shot of the magical mode of transportation.
Mal on her way to Odella plantation.
Some quests require that you fly back and forth, hither and yon.
Here, kitteh-kitteh-kitteh!
Gorgeous shot, is it not?
My screenshot program did another "whoopsie-doo". I'm sure there was more in the picture than what appears. :O\ Dunno why that happens.
Mal is "hearthing" back to her bound obelisk. I thought it was neat - so I took a picture.
This sword (or is it a dagger?) looks so totally COOL!!
I love looking at that tree. It's so beautiful.
Someone else is looking into Mal's future. And we're back on that floating rock ... and looking very sex-hay in the outfit.
I can't wait until Mal is truly able to fly. *jiggles* I mean ... she is flying here, but I'm not in control of her during this sequence. I did get to fight some dudes (peons really), but then the game took over and we were wings deep into a cut scene (as the next sequence of pictures will show):
And at the end of the "dream sequence/future vision", this guy (Munin) saves Mal's ass. :O) He then claims that sometime in the future, they will need one another. Sounds like romance to me! *wiggles eyebrows*
Dying sucks ... but now that she has "Ascended", when she dies, her wings pop out. Neat, eh?
Chillin' in the wilderness (waiting for her mana to regenerate so she can kill more stuff).
I cropped the newbie area map so you could get a better look at it this time.
Back to "The Forgotten Place of Exile" once more to talk to Munin. It's at this point that Mal has completed the quests in the newbie area and is ready to move on to darker pastures.
Preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty!
Mal gets invited to the capitol city of Pandaemonium, and THIS is the greeting she gets?!
I should say so! (Bastards)
Thanks.
So ... Maladhiel is in Pandaemonium because she as "Ascended" ... and is getting ready to take part in her Daeva Ceremony. Yup ... she "Ascended" from mere mortal to Daeva.
I think this is that Aether stuff that the lore books say is leaking out of what remains of Atreia ... killing it. But no time for sightseeing. Mal and I have a ceremony to attend (images below):
She was asked to PROVE herself a Daeva. So she did. :Op The green-haired guy was the first guy she met upon being dropped into the newbie area. He looks so proud. :O)
Time for some Mage training. At level 9, you are to choose which specialty path you want to take. For Mages, that means choosing either SORCERER or SPIRITMASTER. I won't tell you which Mal chose. I'll save that for last. Of course, in this picture, Mal is already level 10. I was just letting you know when you get to choose your path. :O))
By the waterfaaaaaall ... I'm calling you-hoo-hoo-hooooo!
It was around this time that I ACCIDENTALLY hit the "Print Screen" button (which is not the keystroke for my Gadwin program) ... realized that just like with LOTRO, it is used to take pictures and there is a Screenshot folder within the Aion folder in my Program Files. *smacks fo'head* Hehe. So tomorrow when I do this, it'll hopefully alleviate the issues I've been having with images not turning out right (maybe). Just wish I knew the keystroke for removing the UI so I could take nicer pictures. It is, unfortunately, NOT Alt+Z. I tried already. *pout*
I forget the name of this location ... but it is the FIRST location where Maladhiel can do THIS:
WOOOOOOOOO! Granted, you can't fly continuously. Yer wings get tired after a time, and if you are up high, you will drop like a stone (and probably go SPLAT). I did not test this as Mal had died enough that day.
And at the end of my gameplay, this is where Malahiel stands - Level 10, Mage, SpiritMaster. *jiggles and dances*
Until tomorrow!
Here are some more random landscape shots (minus Maladhiel):

"Other people can make you resurrect at the spot"? What the heck does that mean?
Very dreary looking place, that. If you're going to be exiled, you should pick somewhere pretty, I always thought. *grins*
The whole hawk aspect of the magical transportation is pretty neat looking. It's so ephemerial too!
The quests that require you to fly somewhere, do they at least reimburse you for the coins you had to shell out?
Very pretty shot. But when do we get to see shots of you in combat? *pouts*
Neat graphics when she returns to her hearthstone.
The short sword (or BIG dagger) does look cool! The male character, unfortunately, very much does not! :-( Next beta, you need to make a male character, so we can see if it's possible to have cute guys or not. (If not, hubby and I definitely won't be playing! *hmphs*)
God, those wings are spectacular!
Uh-oh, she got her butt whupped in the vision sequence! *tsks* Glad she got saved though.
Wow, you've explored quite a bit of the newbie area already!
With a city name like Pandaemonium, you expected anything but chaos? Silly woman!
Yay! Congratulations on her Ascension!
Sweet! Congrats on sprouting her wings! *cheers wildly* Very neat that you can't fly forever and your wings actually get tired. :-D
It's got a very World of Warcraft feel to the graphics there, beautiful and slightly cartoonish. Really pretty stuff there!
