The Beginning ...

So as some of my simming buddies are aware, I accidentally stumbled upon the website for a new MMORPG called Aion: The Tower of Eternity.

I think I was prowling around at Ebgames.com or something and saw and advertisement for it or something to that effect. But I digress. Intrigued by some of the trailers that I saw as well as some of the wallpapers, I found myself preordering the game. Though it is not due to be released until September 2009, I went ahead and preordered the game due to the fact that one of the bonuses for preordering was a beta key. With this preorder beta key, not only did you get access to the 1st beta event, but ALL of the beta events scheduled between now and September. I've never taken part in a beta event before. Try before you buy right? Of course, I did realize that there was a stipulation that once you made the preorder, you could not cancel the order. :Op But ... I was okay with that. I could deal. Especially after I went through the trouble of downloading the game client and saw this:

The beauty of it ... that alone was enough to convince me to give the beta a chance. I was informed that I would receive my beta key shortly after my order was confirmed. Stupid me - I didn't read my order confirmation to the end (which is where my beta key was located). Because I didn't notice it, I completely missed the 2nd beta event and was forced the wait TWO WEEKS for the 3rd beta event (scheduled for July 2nd - July 6th).

Today ... is that day! The beta opened at 3:00 PM EST. Luckily for me, I was at work until 4:00 PM, and knew I wouldn't make it home until around 5:00 PM. I say "luckily for me" because the servers couldn't handle the many thousands of people trying to get right into the servers right at 3:00 PM. Heh! Then when I did get home, I decided to relax and eat my dinner. By the time I was finished with that (and relaxing) it was about 6:00 PM. As a result of my patience, I had no issues logging into the server (I chose Siel).

I will now begin the chronicle of my experiences for each beta that I take part in. I ask that you please bear with me ... as I plan to take MANY images and I do want to post every single one. How else could you all get the feel for it? :OD))
